Abstract:

Background: Staphylococcus aureus is one of the important pathogen all around the world. The present investigation was carried out to study the distribution of SCCmec types and antibiotic resistance properties in methicillin-resistance Staphylococcus aureus isolated from Bedsore infectious in Isfahan, Iran. Methods: 96 clinical Bedsore infectious specimens were collected from Isfahan hospital. Antibiotic resistance was studied using disk diffusion method. Methicillin resistance isolates were subjected to several M-PCR methods. Results: A total of 96 S. aureus strains were isolated from Bedsore infectious. Antimicrobial susceptibility testing, detection of mecA gene and various SCCmec types were done. Resistance to oxacilin (9%) and cefepime (73.5%) showed the highest ratio. It was indicated that, 78% of the strains were resistance to methicillin. According to PCR method, SCCmec III (35%) was the highest type of SCCmec types. Conclusion: This infection with these strains require more advanced hospital care with emerging demand for novel antibiotics and infections with these strains require higher levels of hospital cares with emerging demand for novel antibiotics.
