Novel Gas Generator Systems
Abstract:
Car airbag system is a protective device and plays a very important role in protecting car passengers. Traffic accident statistics show that the use of the airbag system alone can reduce the death rate in accidents by 32%. The car's air bag is filled during an accident by the propellant gas generator that causes the air bag to open. This is while the appropriate amount of gas is placed in the bag according to the reaction stoichiometry, and each bag has a specific volume that reaches that volume when it is filled with gas. Despite the efficiency of this system, there are in countless harms such as the release of unburned and toxic gases, bag tearing, and causing burns to the passengers during an accident. In passenger cars, conventional acid-based fuels are used to inflate airbags. Exposure to sodium acid leads to many health problems such as low blood pressure, indigestion, respiratory problems, eye irritation, itching, drowsiness, etc. The purpose of this article is to investigate the generator of propellant gas with less toxicity, low cost and no damage to the environment in airbag systems, and the performance of different non-acid fuels based on differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermogravimetry (TG) techniques, to evaluate as exothermic peak
