Ramin Gozarani Eghtesad is an interdisciplinary researcher in environmental economics, ecological systems modeling, and sustainability science. His work focuses on the development of entropy-based ecological frameworks, machine learning–driven environmental modeling, and tipping-point analysis in complex ecosystems. He is the founder of the Entropy–Ecological Cycles Theory (EECT) and the Disturbed Equilibrium Theory (DET), along with associated quantitative indicators such as the Ecological Entropy Index (EEI) and the Disturbed Equilibrium Index (DEI). Research Interests Environmental and Natural Resource Economics Ecological Systems Modeling and Complexity Science Entropy-based Environmental Analysis Remote Sensing and Spatio-temporal Data Science Machine Learning in Environmental Applications (XGBoost, SHAP) Ecological Tipping Points and System Collapse Modeling Sustainability and Livability Index Design Philosophy of Science and Interdisciplinary Modeling Scientific Contributions Entropy–Ecological Cycles Theory (EECT) A framework for modeling nonlinear ecological dynamics: EECT-I: Aquatic ecosystem collapse and entropy measurement EECT-II: Wetland–forest ecological interactions EECT-III: Desert–urban systems using machine learning and explainable AI Disturbed Equilibrium Theory (DET) A theoretical and computational model for analyzing ecosystem transitions between equilibrium, disturbance, and collapse, operationalized through the DEI metric.
