Abstract:

Earth which is the first and most accessible material in the world, is the raw material for construction during human life, has many applications. In history of Egypt using earth as a basic material has been remarkable. Today also due to the lack of resources and energy, architects and manufacturers have been noticed to soil architecture. There are a range of approaches to earth architecture. One the most famous and useful technique is rammed earth. Rammed earth buildings are normally perceived to have desirable thermal performance due to the thermal mass effect of the walls. This research was carried out to assess thermal comfort in houses constructed of rammed earth. This also proved that a better Thermal in rammed earth houses comfort needs more factor such as, insulation, double glazing, shading and ventilation.
