Abstract:
This paper investigates the physical characteristic, e.g. coefficient of friction (CoF),wear scar diameter (WSD), flash temperature parameter (FTP) and viscosity indexof Jatropha oil in various rotational speeds, to introduce as a new, clean and renewable source of lubricant and hydraulic bases. This study was performed usinga four ball wear machine tester, digital microscope, scanning electron microscope, CCD camera and viscosity meter under various speed (800,1200,and 1600rpm). Also, the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) with number D4172 was based of other conditions for experiment (load 392N, temperature 75°Cand time 60 min).
