Abstract:
To control the stability of the basin, it is important to decrease the abrasion. Any abrasion in the basin will threat the stability of the dam and as a result it will collapse; therefore, it is important to have the abrasion minimized. In this study we will try to minimize the velocity of the returning water to control the abrasion to the basin. To achieve the said, we change the deflector height, the distance from the end of the basin, and also the distance from the basin floor.A review of the results show a 5 feet high deflector mounted 6 feet upstream from the end of the basin, and 10 feet above the floor will produce the best performance
