Abstract:

In this paper, fabrication of free-standing multiwall carbon nanotube (MWCNT) papers has been reported. Free-standing MWCNT papers have high electrical and thermal conductivity, large specific surface area, superior chemical stability, and can be fabricated without binder and metal substrate. Therefore, this new design of electrodes will provide lightweight, low cost and flexible lithium-ion batteries. The fabricated MWCNT paper was used here as lithium-ion battery anode, and showed capacity about 200 mAh/g after 5 cycles under current density of 250 mA/g. The synthetic method used here is compatible with industry and roll-to-roll processing technology.
