Abstract:

One of the devastating effects of the earthquake is liquefaction phenomenon on the site which is considered one of the most important and complex topics in seismic geotechnical engineering. Liquefaction is a phenomenon in which loose, saturated and lack of adhesion of sediments in terms of undrained and affected by shear waves caused by earthquakes or heavy static load can occur. To counter the damaging effects of this phenomenon, it is essential to identify areas prone to liquefaction. Identification can be done by zoning various and risk of these areas is determined by the capacity. Hence, in this study, liquefaction hazard zonation map of the city of Babol will be presented. Therefore, research was conducted on soils in Babol city and after examining various parts of the city, is laboratory results and field studies of more than fifty boreholes drilled in various locations with a depth of twenty meters are used. In this study obtained results from procedures such as Seed et al (1985), Iwasaki et al (1982), the Haeri & Yasrebi number of incidence level (1376) ,Chen & Juang (2000) and Sonmez & Gokceoglu (2005) is examined using a computer program and finally microzonation of liquefaction hazard map of the city of Babol is presented.
