Abstract:

In real life applications, some inputs and outputs of subjective, linguistic and vague forms may possess intuitionistic fuzzy essence instead of fuzziness. Conventional DEA requires crisp input and output data, which may not always be available in real world applications. Likewise, in the real world there are systems which are composed of independent production units. The conventional DEA model uses the sum of the inputs and outputs of all component units of a system to calculate its efficiency. This paper develops a parallel IFDEA model which takes the operation of individual components into account in calculating the efficiency of the system that some inputs and outputs may possess intuitionistic fuzzy essence. A property is that some inputs and outputs may possess intuitionistic fuzzy essence instead of crisp or fuzziness. Another property is that the efficiency calculated from parallel IFDEA model is smaller than that calculated from the conventional IFDEA model.
