Abstract:
Systems architecting is an area dealing with complexity by reducing and managing it. Studies on theoretical foundations of systems architectuing indicate that there is no process to develop architecture. The goal of this study is to present a framework to examine systems for their architecting. According to operations research definitions and based on a number of paradigms, problem types range from well-defined/tame to ill-defined/mess/wicked. Therefore, architecting a variety of systems has been considered as a problem. The desired framework is developed using perceptions related to methodology of morphological analysis and the concept of morphological field. Accordingly, after reviewing the literature, the morphological box of systems architecting was presented, modified and finalized through interviews with experts and thematic analysis of morphological box and was presented to develop morphological configuration and scenarios of systems architecting. This morphological field contained nine dimensions with their relevant values.
