Abstract:
In this work the vibration transfer paths in a vehicle are studied for ranking their role in transmittingunwanted vibration to passenger compartment. Each path starts from mount point location, continuingthrough the chassis and ends up to passenger compartment. A complete FE model of vehiclewith its detailed component behavior and connections has been built to determine the effect ofnonlinear components in transmission of vibration from interface points to the target points. By performingspecific tests the results from numerical simulation have been verified and the model iscompleted. The real engine loads have then been applied to the FE model to investigate their effecton vibration transfer in the vehicle. The results were then discussed and the main source of the nonlinearityin vibration transfer paths has been identified
