Abstract:
Efficiency is one of the crucial parameters in designing ultrasonic transducer. Computer in-vention and expanding its calculation capability provides different procedures for researchers to improve design of ultrasonic transducer. Finite element method (FEM) is one of these methods in ultrasonic transducer simulation. Results from FEM show simulation is reliable for estimation of ultrasonic transducer resonance frequency but in conductance (conductance magnitude is named conductance in this issue) there is a gap between simulation and experi-mental results. This paper aims to introduce electrical loss conductance which depends on frequency and dielectric loss factor. Due to direct relationship between conductance and effi-ciency, this parameter is important for better estimation of efficiency in ultrasonic transduce. Efficiency is obtained by calculating acoustic power and electrical power. Acoustic power is measured in far-field region and electric power is calculated with and without dielectric loss factor to manifest the effect of electric loss conductance on simulation.
