Suspension system plays a vital role in isolate the vehicle from shock loading and vibration due to irregularities in the road surface and it must do this without weakening the stability, steering or handling qualities of the vehicle. A considerable amount of literature has been pub-lished on suspension system approaches which using numerical methods. Numerical control approaches need parameters to be predefined and fixed. In this study, new algebraic approach will be implemented through using sum of roots and spectral factorization on algebraic Riccati equation. Finally, simulations for a two-degree-of-freedom quarter-car model with an active suspension are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach in following the references signal.
