An introduction to shenashil in traditional architecture shenashil in Iraqi’s cities and Bushehr shenashil in Iran

Mashrabiya, one of the elements of traditional architecture that dates back to Abbasid Dynasty has been transferred to many parts of the world throughout the history. The current study explores Mashrabiya in Iranian and Iraqi architecture by investigating concepts, shapes, functions, the effects of climate on structure of Mashrabiya, the effects of Mashrabiya on wind stream in houses, architectural elements and external face, etc.
