Abstract:

Writing skill has an important role in demonstrating the students’ learning. Although students are evaluated by what they write, writing is generally regarded as a difficult skill and a complex task. writing is a very complex procedure in which a great number of cognitive and meta-cognitive activities take place. One of the most important components that make up a writing task well is the students’ motivation. Needless to say, motivation plays a pivotal role in education. motivation is an inner drive, impulse, emotion or desire that moves one to a particular action . In addition, motivation is underappreciated in psychology generally, no doubt partly because the cognitive revolution of recent decades has induced the majority of researchers to think in cognitive rather than motivational terms.The main objective of this study is investigating the the relationship between intrinsic motivation strategy use and student writing performance also aimed to investigate the correlation between intrinsic strategy use and their writing self-efficacy. The study is quantitative and the participant involved 120 students in English classes studying at private English institute in zahedan selected using simple random sampling method. two self-reported inventories are employed Language Learners instinct Motivation questionnaire is used to examine the insrrinct motivation of the participants and the Sherer et al. s General Self-Efficacy Scale is conducted to survey the subjects’ Self-Efficacy.. For data analysis, Statistical Package of Social Science SPSS was employed. Results of the study indicate Intrinsic Motivation Strategy Use have significant influence on learners’ writing performance.
