Abstract:

Mining machineries are generally exposed to intensive vibrations in harsh mining environment that can lead to the machine and its operator’s health issues, if the vibrations be beyond the acceptable limit. Among the mining vehicles, mining trucks usually operate at various work cycles including loading, transporting, dumping the load and returning to the loading aria and also in different haul road conditions. Therefore, the study of mining truck vibrations at different operation stages is necessary to reduce related risks. In this paper, the vibration of a mining truck at different operational conditions are simulated and discussed using computer simulation. The simulation results indicate that the haul road quality, the truck speed and the materials distribution quality have significant effects on the root mean square (RMS) of vertical vibrations. Moreover, the accumulation of materials is efficient on the vibrational health risk in moderate to poor quality haul roads.
