Abstract:

In this article, preparation of magnesium vanadate ceramic nanofibers as a new generation of ceramic nanofibers is described. First, polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) as a matrix polymer was mixed separately with ammonium vanadate (NH4VO3) and magnesium nitrate (Mg(NO3)2). A spinnable polymeric gel was prepared from the controlled mixing of these two precursors of ceramic material. Then electrospinning of PVA / NH4VO3 / Mg (NO3)2 solution by an electroris device led to the production of polymeric template nanofibers. Finally, magnesium vanadate ceramic nanofibers were obtained from calcination of polymeric nanofibers under controlled temperature. The products were characterized using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Fourier-Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR) and X-ray diffraction (XRD).
