Optimization of Glycol Dehydration Plant Using Linear Programming Method abstract
In this work, linear programming has been used to optimize the working cost of a gas hydration plant using triethylene glycol. The plant has been design before using Campbell’s method to predict the required operating conditions. Stripping gas, reboiler temperature and glycol rate have been considered as the process variables. Reboiler duty, pump power and water make-up were then well linearized accordingly. These parameters determine the operational cost. Water content of dry gas was alsolinearized as the process constraint. Results showed that the operating cost can be reduced considerably using optimization techniques.
