Forming Sulfur Filter Cake Recovered from Sulfiran Process

removal of hydrogen sulfide H2O from gas streams has been an issue for the energy industry since its inception. In sulfiran process hazardous H2S gas is directly changed to the fine elemntal sulfur particles, which separates as a cake from aqueous medium although conducted studies indecate that the sulfur cake can be directly used in agricultural sector but evidences show that after drying the mechanical strength of such filter cake is low and by applying a small force simply breaks deownto make a powder. handing and use of such filter cake is not recommended due to safety , health and environmental considerations . initial laboratory studied show that using of appropriate and inexpensive additives to sulfur cake after wet process; it will form a granulated product with suitable mechanical resistance . in other words because of the water content of sulfur produced in sulfiran process , using of wet granulation process for industrial production is a more technically possible method.
