Abstract:
One of the main men infertility problems is varicocele (VCL), which participates in 15-20 percentage of male originated infertilities. The VCL-induced infertility is initiated by regraded blood flow into spermatic and cremasteric veins into left pampiniform plexus.Accordingly, the VCL negatively affects both testicular tissue, spermatogonial stem cells (SSCs) survival, self-renewal, and differentiation processes and results in the arrested spermatogenesis process. Although the Sertoli cell metabolism effects on SSCs in VCL condition has been investigated in left testicular tissue, there is no evidence for the VCL effects on right testicular tissue. Thus in the current study, we aimed to examine the VCL possible effects on Sertoli cells metabolism by evaluating Glut-3 and MCT-4 protein levels.
