Abstract:

One of the important knowledge for developing hybrid cotton is finding the best density or planting aranegement. To investigate this subject , an experiment was done in Hashem Abad cotton research station in Golestan for two years ( 2008 - 2009). Experiment was a factorial in randomized complete block design. Factors were hybrids ( SAHEL x SINDOSE , SAHEL x B557 , SAHEL as Control) and planting arangement ( 80x20, 80x80, 90x90, 100x60 , 100x80 , 100xlOO). Results showed that in hybrids or saItel cotton, ever for a drought year (2008) or a year with huge insects in the early season (2009), 80x20 planting arangement was the best for highest yield and earliness or stability. Increasing of boil numbers from the boils on the plants was the causing of increasing of yield for two years. So that, instead of increase the density for suitable cultivars that capable to increase the boils in (m2) , the role of retaining boils in high density in investigating cultivars or recomending cultivars is very important.
