The pests and predators of honey bee include a number of insects, mites, spiders, pseudoscorpions and birds, that cause some physiological and behavioral disorders and can cause direct or indirect mortality in honey bee colonies. Some pests of honey bee such as wax moth cause relatively sever damages to honey combs especially in storage. The purpose of this project is to identify and determine the distribution of pests and predators of honey bee in different area in the Fars province. To determine the distribution of honey bee pests and predators, eight cities were selected in different climates of the Fars province as follows: 1. Mediterranean climates: Abadeh, Sepidan and Shiraz 2. Warm semi - desert climates: kazeroon, Firoozabad Noorabad, Darab. 3. Cold mountaneous climates: Eghlid In order to isolation and'identification of ectoparasite (suc;h as Varroa and Clarea mites and honey bee louse) SO alive honey bee were randomly selected from each colony and transported to the laboratory in 75% ethanol. Due to surviying lavaral and brood cells, 5..5 em piece of comb were cut with knife and freeze untill survey. By distributing questionnaire between beekeepers, some informations about the apiaries and past records of pests and predators were coUected. For collecting of predatory birds and other pest and predators, besides questionnaire informations, net and jars containing cyanide for killing insects were distributed between local technicians (with M.S. degree) who collaborated with US. Va"OQ jacobson~ Vespa spp., Vespula spp., Merops spp., and Galleria me//onel/Q were observed in all climates. Me/oe spp. were observed in mediterranean and cold mountaneous climates. Braula spp. and Acaropis wood; were not found in any climates. Lizard were mentioned as a predator of honey bee in mediterranean and cold mountaneous climates.
