Abstract:

Soli, this important capital of life, would be preserved merely using a proper WBtershed managemenL Identification of the soil specialy its erroslon is a good start to conserve the soil. Two methods are used to find tbe land resarches nformation in order to prepare a map ot erroslon exteDslon and Us type. The first metbod is tbe previllaae, traditional field method and the sec:ond ODe is tbe modem introduced remote sensing method. In this study the second method was used ID identificaion of the soil and preparation a map of the soil erroslon in the Fars province or Iran. The sattelite lmmageries of water errosion or the studied regions in 1990 aDd 1998 were prepared and the special linear and matrix processes such as NDVI and FCC were processed. Vegetation aDd orgaDlcmatter of the soil were studied by comparislng the baDds, seperately, in each mentioned periods. Then a map or soil surface errosioD was prepared. The real 5011 errosion were determined using the matrb processing methods with the help of filters made aDd the maps of rill errosion exteDtiOD coDdition were prepared in each period In 1990 and 1998. Study of stream cbannel erroslon cODdltion and meander coDdition become passible using tbe mters seperating the linements. The gully errosioo maps were prepared by makiDg some changes in laplace filters which caused some changes iD shOOow domain effects. The results showed that using the sattelite immageries processings In identincation of the soil and preparation of the maps of water errosion is a positive and favorable soli assesment method.
