Abstract:

Thomson navel orange cultivar is a major horticultural crop in Iran, one of the ways to healthy plant production (in this crop) is provided scion of nucellar samples. Spine in Thomson nucellar tree, is disadvantages character therefore that had required breeding action in this filed. Genetic variation is very important in Citrus breeding programs. Therefore in this research variation of 700 irradiation plants (nucellar of thomson navel orange) were evaluated by vegetative and generative traits by complete randomize design analysis (CRD). The results showed that in the genetic diversity some of plant material includes mutants G2, G11 and G40without spines.But mutants listed (G2, G11 and G40) have late or middleripening fruit, therefore middle December is recommended for harvest time. The average navel diameter of these plants was 3.95 mm, in the third year. However the value of this character was 8.06 mm in the second year. So in selected mutant's navel diameter were not constant and requires more study in this research.In addition to the selected mutants, 15 mutants were also havetiny spineswhit early ripening fruitand smallnavel diameter.Key words:Induce mutation - Nucellar Tampson navel – Breeding mutation- Mutant- Gamma Ray
