Abstract:
Proper design of surface irrigation systems is key for sustainable development of agriculture systems. However, optimum selection of such parameters using field experiments is highly cost and timeconsuming. In this study, performance of SIRMOD and WINSRFR models of surface irrigation insimulation of water flow (including advance and recession times, total runoff and infiltration volumes)were evaluated using different evaluation indices against field measurements. The results indicatedSIRMOD model yield better predictions in terms of infiltrated volume, while both modelsoverestimated the runoff volumes.
