Abstract:

In this study, the convection heat transfer of nanofluid composed of graphene-water with different wt% of graphene nanoparticles was investigated experimentally. To do this, water-based nanofluid containing graphene were first synthesized at concentrations of 0.01, 0.05 and 0.1 wt%. After circulating fluids in the lab equipment, the convection heat transfer coefficient (h) and the Nusselt number (Nu) of graphene-water nanofluid were investigated in a horizontal double-tube counter flow heat exchanger in laminar and turbulent flow conditions and constant wall temperature. Water was initially heated as a hot (base) fluid at 60 and 80 ° C. The graphene-water nanofluid was then substituted for water, all steps and all observations were recorded, necessary calculations were performed, necessary comparisons were plotted in Excel software, and the necessary results were reviewed. After performing all the calculations, the convective heat transfer coefficient (h) at concentrations of 0.01, 0.05 and 0.1% wt% improved by 1.01, 1.03 and 1.09%, respectively, and the experimental Nusselt number (Nuexp) at concentrations of 0.01, 0.05 and 0.1% wt% increased by 1.22, 1.26 and 1.34% compared to the Nutheory number. The results showed that increasing the concentration of nanofluid improved the heat transfer.
