Analytical Solution of Polymer Flow Equation in Porous Media abstract

Regard to the importance of analyzing the enhanced oil recovery methods before implementing and considering the fact that most of the evaluating methods are time consuming or not cost effective, developing analytical models sound so useful to analyze chemicals behavior before injecting into the rock. In fact, the analytical solutions are absolutely helpful to have a better understating of the physical impact of the situations on model and flow behavior through it. This paper reviews analytical solution of polymer flow equation in porous media under two different situations. The first one is analyzing a hyperbolic system that does not consider the gravity and capillary effects. The purpose of this model is to provide an easier method to figure out the interaction between different effects and at last generating a precise transport equation. Another special condition is considering the magnetic effect on polymer behavior while displacing oil in the porous media. Finally, this study shows that under magnetic effect, flow velocity of polymer particles increase.
