In most available studied unreinforced masonry URM walls are idealized as rectangular sections while in reality walls demonstrate effective sectional shapes such as U,H,Tand L. despite this face little experimental evidence is available regerding seismic behavior of such walls and consequently only a limited number of regulations regarding their modeling and behavior are found in codes.
