An Overview of Fiber Optic Sensor and Its Industrial Application

In this paper we defined structural health monitoring system (SHM). We introduced fiber optic sensor (FOS) and the effective parameters which provide us sensing technology. FOS classified in three tables with the measurable parameters in each group were introduced. We mentioned advantages of FOS in comparison with conventional electronic and mechanical sensors. We presented two example of application of FOS. Study shows that trends toward FOS is very high in the world and world counts on this system as a revolution in the sensing system especially SHM and FOS
