An Investigation into the Impacts of Teaching Listening Comprehension Strategies on Effective Listening Comprehension

Being a receptive skill in the oral form, listening comprehension is listening and understanding what we hear. Listening comprehension is the most common communicative activity not only in daily life but also in learning a foreign language. Listening comprehension is important skill to develop for receiving a comprehensible input, which is crucial for language development since good listeners would be usually great communicators in future. Unfortunately, listening comprehension learning and teaching have been neglected despite the great importance of listening in the process of acquiring a language. (Ipek, ۲۰۲۰) Despite its importance, this skill has received little attention in TEFL. Many experts have investigated the impacts of teaching listening strategies on increasing the language learning process (Fathi, Derakhshan, & Torabi, ۲۰۲۰; Kaivanpanah, Mohammad Alavi, & AL-Shammari, ۲۰۲۰; Sohler, ۲۰۲۰). In the present paper, the authors have tried to investigate the important review of the literature on how teaching listening strategies can facilitate language learning process.
