Abstract:
Nanosciences and nanotechnology are new frontiers of this decade. Their uses in the agriculture and food products are relatively recent in comparison with their applications in medicine, drug delivery and pharmaceuticals. The recent development of nanotechnology has been improved the inhibition of food-borne pathogens food and agriculture sectors, especially the invention of smart and active packaging materials, nanosensors, nanopesticides, and nanofertilizers. Numerous new nanomaterials including nano-metals, nano-emulsions, and nano-fillers have been produced for improving food quality and safety, crop growth, and monitoring environmental conditions. In this review, the most recent trends in nanotechnology in food safety are discussed.
