Abstract:
Concept-based instruction (CBI) concentrates on deeper conceptual understanding through verbal communication and simplified material development. This paper presents a narrative review of studies on concept-based instruction in general as well as its relation to a lesson plan for teaching ‘wishes’ in particular. First, theoretical background of concept-based instruction including its relation to lesson plan is clarified. Then, a lesson plan for teaching ‘wish’ is explained step by step. Data bases used for searching are: Google, Google Scholars and Science Direct. Among articles found, the researchers selected ۱۸ most related studies to present the paper. Implementing CBI approach in classroom, where English is learnt as a foreign language, creates opportunities for learners to verbally demonstrate their understanding and so boost their learning faster and easier.
