Abstract:

Maisotsenko cycle is a recently patented thermodynamic cycle which utilizes the latent heat of evaporation to attain a temperature below the wet-bulb temperature. Given that broiler house is one of energy intensive industries that consume large amount of energy to provide the suitable indoor environment for chicken health and production like meat and eggs, Maisotsenko Cycle with lower energy consumption and higher efficiency could be a good alternative in industrial poultry houses. Using a numerical model, the Maisotsenko Cycle performance, as a cooling system of a broiler house, is considered in four different climate zones including Hot-Dry (Tehran, Kerman), Cold-Dry (Mashhad), Hot-semi Humid (Ahvaz, Abadan). To calculate the cooling load of the broiler house with an area of ۵۰ m۲, it is simulated in Design Builder software. Based on the obtained results, the highest cooling load on July ۱۶ is related to Tehran and is equal to ۱۱.۵۴ kW; whereas, the lowest cooling load is related to Kerman and is equal to ۹.۴۶ kW. It is found that by replacing industrial chiller with Maisotsenko Cycle, Ahvaz with ۱۷۸۶.۵۶ kWh has the highest energy saving and Abadan with ۸۰۱.۲۴ kWh has the lowest energy saving
