Abstract:
In this paper, we present a cloaking structure based on two-dimensional phononic crystals and show the ability to hiding the object with any size and shape from the acoustic wave, that the operating frequency can be easily changed by changing dimensions of the unit cell. The cooperation of two important features of phononic crystals including negative refraction and self-collimation enabled us to design the phononic structure for invisibility purposes. We will show that reflection from the object with the proposed cloak is near to zero and the wave will be reconstructed behind the structure, so there will be no shadow effect. Therefore, the object will be invisible, whether the detector is on the side of the wave producer or the opposite side.
