A model for the recognition of grey scale images has been proposed which is invariant to translation scale position and rotation invariancy is mainly achieved by a projection method based on the proposed modified radon transform the modified radon transform has attractive feature reduction properties a fast feature extractor based on the rapid transform has been adoted which makes the output of the projection stage rotationinvariant the model has been tested on two sets of grey scale planar shapes with satisfactory results achieved.
