Abstract:

In recent years, one of the advances made in the plastics and composites industry is the development and commercialization of polymer-based nanocomposites. Polymer nanocomposites based on polyolefin thermoplastics, elastomers and mineral and non-mineral fillers have been considered in engineering applications including automotive, aerospace, construction and medical equipment industries. Ethylene propylene diene monomer with a lower percentage composition than the plastic component is widely used for polypropylene toughness. Nanoclays can affect the morphology of the alloy depending on the mixing conditions, type of dispersion and interactions it has with the polymer, causing thermal stability and increasing the mechanical properties of the two compounds. This paper reviews the references that polypropylene/ethylene-propylene diene monomer /nanoclay nanocomposite have been prepared by melt mixing method and the morphology, thermal, rheological and mechanical properties of the nanocomposite along with the effect of nanoparticles on this blends have been studied
