Abstract:

The relations between displacements and horizontal floor-forces of multi story reinforced concrete frames are investigated in this paper. The relationships between the forces and displacements are analysed by using the finite element method. The bilinear relation between bending moment and curvature is included. For the state uj ۰ and ul = ۰ (۱,i =۱,۲,...n and t * j), by slowly increasing the J-floor horizontal displacement uj and by changing the bending stiffness of some of the members, the relationships between the displacements and forces are approximated by Ramberg-Osgoods skeleton curves and hysteresis loops
