A METHOD FOR EVALUATION OF THE SEISMIC CAPACITY OF EXISTING WC BUILDINGS

The Institute of Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Seismology in Skopje,Republic of Macedonia, has developed methods and a corresponding package of computer programmes for evaluation of the seismic resistance of existing RIC building structures. The method can also be used for testing newly designed buildings aiming at carrying out eventual necessary modifications and improvement of the structures during the phase of final design, as well as in the process of definition of most optimal structural system for repair and/or strengthening of existing RIC buildings. Presented in the paper shall be the details of the methodology developed at IZIIS (Golubka Necevska-Cvetanovska) as well as the results from the design of the structure (constructed in the territory of the town of Skopje, Republic of Macedonia) by using the presented methodology compared to the requirements and the criteria of Eurocode ۸.
