On the Relationship between Iranian EFL Teachers Burnout and Motivation abstract
Teachers play an important and crucial role in our life to become successful in career and business. For teaching, having high level of some sources like physical, emotional and intellectual is suggested. Teachers' activities and capabilities are impressed by some social psychological variables like burnout and motivation. For determining the relationship between Iranian English teachers' burnout and motivation, quantitative methodology was made. The data collection was possible by two questionnaires: Maslach Burnout Inventory-Educators Survey formed by Maslach and Jackson (1986), Motivation to Teach Questionnaire, was designed by Soenens, Sierens, Vansteenkiste, Dochy, and Goossens (2012). Due to Coronavirus and having no access to universities or school classes the questionnaires were answered by Iranian EFL teachers online. Multiple regression as a statistical analysis showed low level of burnout in Iranian EFL teachers and after doing correlation analysis; negative relationship was presented between burnout and motivation. It was cleared that motivation and its subscales 36% could predict the teachers' burnout.
