Distributed Generator with Voltage Unbalance Compensation Capability abstract
Recently, there is an increasing interest of using distributed generators not only to inject power into the grid, but also to enhance the power quality. In this paper, a control method for distributed generation (DG) systems to compensate voltage unbalances is proposed. The method can be used in both islanded and grid-connected operation modes of the DG. In this approach, active and reactive power control loops are considered to control the power injected by the DG. Also, a virtual impedance loop and voltage and current proportional-resonant controllers are included. Simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed method for compensating voltage unbalance to a determined level.
