Abstract:

By increasing the importance of renewable energy in the modern world and in order to meet sustained load demands during varying natural conditions, different energy sources need to be integrated with each other for extended usage of alternative energy. We use photovoltaic (PV), fuel cell (FC) and Battery combination for providing the variable dc load demand. This paper proposes a DClinked hybrid PV/FC/Battery structure, in stand-alone applications. PV works as the primary power source in the system, FC works as a long-term backup source and Battery provides a short time storage system.In order to manage power flows between different energy sources and the storage unit, we design an overall power management control strategy for the proposed system by considering the output voltage regulation. Predictive current control (PCC) technique is used to Control the system operation. Simulation study for the purposed hybrid power system is, fully analyzed in the MATLAB/Simulink software package. Simulation result shows the capability of the proposed method.
