Security Threats ZigBee Technology in Wireless abstract
Information systems have become more predominant in urban environments where more crucial data can be captured than it has been before. Consequently, digitally oriented cities are transforming into smart cities with infrastructures that are interconnected, instrumented, self-learning, and robust as well . Efficient communicationcapabilities is a key factor to realize smart city applications; where wireless sensor network (WSN) offers a wireless connectivity among devices using sensors for monitoring purposes ZigBee is a wireless network standardized at the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers with IEEE code 802.15.4. In Zigbee technology, the design is such that low power digital radio signals are distributed in personal area networks (PANs) with low bandwidth and the bandwidth obtained is also low. In return for the loss oftransmission bandwidth and coverage range, an affordable price and very low energy consumption are achieved. In recent years, with the advancement of various technologies, users have been more inclined to wireless networks. One of the reasons for the superiority of these networks over wired networks is their independence from the transmission media. But like many other technologies, ease of operation complicates construction, and securing these networks can be difficult. ZigBee technology provides a low-cost, low-power, secure connection with longlasting resources. For this reason, this technology is used in various fields of military, administrative, commercial, industrial and domestic, and this issue determines the flexible nature of this technology and its quality of service. ZigBee protocol provides more security for the network. In this research, an attempt has been made to address the applications of this technology as well as issues, threats and security challenges of these networks and to provide appropriate mechanisms and measures against attacks as much as possible.
