Abstract:
The present study describes the center of mass deformation of mild steel triangular plate under C۲H۲-O۲ gaseous detonation loading through non-dimensional analysis. In the experiment, a series of mild steel plates with different thicknesses were clamped in a triangular frame mounted at the end wall of the detonation vessel to conduct gaseous detonation tests. In addition, piezoelectric pressure sensor was used to record the variation of pressure versus time during detonation process. In non-dimensional analysis, the center of mass deflection of clamped triangular plates was determined considering gaseous mixture pre-detonation pressure, thickness and dimensions of plate. The engaged experimental test results can be used to calibrate the empirical model and to refine the non-dimensional model for predicting the response of plate due to gaseous detonation.
