Abstract:
In this work, the thermal performance improvement of pressure reduction station heater using nanofluid inside the water bath is numerically investigated by a commercial CFD code, ANSYS Fluent ۱۹.۲. Numerical results show that the use of nanofluid instead of water in the water bath leads to an increase in exhaust gas temperature up to ۱۰۰%. At low inlet Reynolds numbers (ReGas =۱۳۲۰۰۰), the exhaust gas temperature improvement is ۱۰۰.۲۶, ۱۰۰.۴۸, and ۱۰۰.۷% for ∅=۱%, ф∅=۲%, and=ф۳%, respectively. At high inlet Reynolds numbers (ReGas =۱۵۶۰۰۰), the exhaust gas temperature improvement is ۱۰۲.۰۲, ۱۰۳.۰۳ and, ۱۰۵.۰۰% for ∅ = ۱%, ф = ۲%, and =ф ۳%, respectively.
