Comparison of physicalization and adjustment in people withnormal and Histrionic characters

Introduction: Proper expression of emotions is one of the most important psychological skills.Sometimes some people do it in the form of physical discomfort due to difficulty expressingemotions. Emotional physicalization is common in people with Histrionic personality disorder.The aim of this study was to compare somatization and emotion regulation in individuals withnormal and Histrionic personality disorder.Method: The present study is post-event (causal-comparative). The sample consisted of ۳۰people who were homogenized in two groups of ۱۵ people with Histrionic and normalpersonality disorder. Data were collected using the Revised Scale of Symptoms Scale (scl_۹۰) toexamine somatization and the Grass and John Emotion Regulation Scale. Data analysis wasperformed using t-test in SPSS software.Results: The results showed that somatization with t = ۱۶.۸ and sig <۰.۰۵ and also emotionregulation with t = -۱۱۹.۵۴ and sig <۰.۰۵ were more common in people with Histrionicpersonality disorder and normal in terms of skills. There is a significant difference betweenemotion regulation and physicalization of emotions.Conclusion: The results showed that somatization with t = ۱۶.۸ and sig <۰.۰۵ and also emotionregulation with t = -۱۱۹.۵۴ and sig <۰.۰۵ were more common in people with Histrionicpersonality disorder and normal in terms of skills.
