Investigation of industrial wastewater effect on non-structural concreteproperties abstract

One of the most important and growing industries globally and Iran is the concrete industry. Duringand after the construction phase and curing, a significant amount of water is used to make concrete. Therefore, we can use the wastewater in different ways in concrete. In this study, 360 specimens withvarying percentages of wastewater in eight values of zero (instance), 15%, 25%, 45%, 50%, 75%, 90%,and 100% of wastewater were prepared and compared with potable water in terms of compressivestrength, water absorption, freezing and melting, and a fitting curve is also investigating to determinethe compressive strength of 7- and 28-day concrete in different wastewaters. Wastewater existencereduces the compressive strength by 10 to 17%, and the wastewater reduced the resistance to freezingand melting of 28 days of concrete and water absorption of 7 and 28 days of concrete regarding thepresence of impurities in the wastewater. The study of compressive strength and the cycle of melting andfreezing of concrete makes it possible to better evaluate the possibility or impossibility of thisenvironmental method due to the reduction of resistance in different conditions, and if appropriate, due toincreasing water shortage in the world, especially in Iran. , This method can be used. According to theresults of this study, up to fifty percent of water consumption can be used as waste.
