Probing the Binding Fashion in Coordination Compounds of D-Block Metals with Versatile Dithiocarbamate N and S Containing Ligand

The synthesis of sulfur and nitrogen (S andN) containing dithiocarbamate ligand derived from ۱-naphthylylamine as well as its coordination compounds withd-block metals of first series have been described. Thesesynthesized compounds were characterized throughelemental analysis, conductometric measurements and IRspectral studies. The analytical data showed that thestoichiometry should be ۱:۲ and ۱:۳ for the compounds of thetypes ML۲ {M=Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II)} andM’L۳ {M’=Cr(III) and Fe(III)}, respectively. Theconductometric measurements indicated that the compoundsare non-ionic in nature. The bidentate nature ofdithiocarbamate moiety was confirmed on the basis of FT-IRspectral analysis.
