Energy and exergy analysis of Absorption-Compression hybrid air conditioning system abstract
A trigeneration system is proposed based on a turbine generator set integrated with a compression and an absorption chiller. The cooling capacity of the hybrid system is used for air conditioning. The turbine set can be either a microgas turbine or a gas turbine. Energy and exergy analysis has been used to investigate the effect of the operating conditions on the efficiency factors and exergy destruction in each component. The results show that the maximum irreversibility happens in the generator, and the total destruction is higher for the gas turbine case. It appears that the increase in the ambient temperature causes a decrease in the energy utilization factor (EUF) and an increase in the second law efficiency. Opposite changes happen due to the increase in evaporating temperature
