Abstract:

Frequent droughts and water shortages have put the world's food security at risk by severely disrupting agricultural production While the human population and the demand are increasing for freshwater resources and healthy food. The development of new systems is vital to respond to the demand for increasing global food production under limited water and soil resources, the development of new systems in various fields of agriculture including irrigation, pest and disease control, soil management, and improving the quantity and quality of products. In this article, the challenges and opportunities facing the agricultural sector have been investigated by looking at the recent developments in the field of intelligentization and modeling of agricultural systems and the widely used role of the Internet of Things and wireless sensor networks, as well as the wide application of programs such as artificial neural network, genetic algorithm, image processing, support vector machines, etc. Since the management of water-soil-plant resources is very considered in today's world, therefore, long-term beneficial investments can be made in this field with the cooperation of the government and industries in the agricultural sector and the promotion and training of farmers and producers. Therefore, the measures mentioned will lead to more efficient management of the country's environmental resources given the recent droughts, provide the country's food security, and also lead to self-sufficiency in the production of agricultural products.
