Wind Energy Potential Assessment, a Case Study abstract
This article aims to evaluate the wind energy potentialof Razavi Khorasan province in Iran. The average wind speedand Weibull distribution are determined for the cities andregions of the province. The Khaf region has been selected fordetailed analysis based on the initial analysis. Standard measuresof wind energy, such as wind and turbulence intensity, areevaluated. The results show that this site has exceptional featuresin terms of wind energy. Power density from wind energy of 1650watts per square meter is obtained at the height of 40 meters, which can be used to meet part of the electricity demand. Khafwind energy can reduce Razavi Khorasan dependence on fossilfuels and other energy sources.
